To Suffer The Sea

Tales of Madness
Cindico Lovelock
To Suffer The Sea

There once was a man whose name is long and forgotten by time. Though Unlike the rest I still know his story. He was the sailor of the sea and made quite the fortune whenever Tychi was kind. Though all the gold that flittered through his eye made him forget the glimmer of the way his old life was. That's not to say he was rich with money but rich with the souls he surrounded himself in.

When he was a young man he saved a young girl from drowning, which just so happened to be his wife five years later. Their marriage was more than beautiful, and a child was on the way. In nine months the man had his legacy born. A son, whose name is also forgotten.

His life was happy, and the lords we kind to him for a time. Though the lords are never content with the happiness of mortals and some stirred his life to near disaster. He quickly became desperate for something else and needed to find a way to support his family.

He finally realized his longing for the sea one day when he taught his son to fish. He explained to his wife his greatest wish, to belong to the sea. As his biggest supporter, she couldn't say no. She helped him find a ship to sail with and wished him luck upon the ceiling of the sea.

He quickly showed promise and gained ranks till finally was the captain of his own ship. Time went by quickly and before he knew it he was eaten up inside by his own greed and lust for power.

The only thing that held him back from ever truly losing himself was the thought of his wife and his dear son.

One night on the ship it was particularly stormy, and Litore gave his ship no chance to survive such a cruel attack by the waves. He did all that he could to save the other members of his ship, accepting his fate decided by the ocean.

I one wave he was swallowed by the sea, all around him was darkness, cold and completely silent. The waves gently shifted him around, still the pressure of the ocean causing him to choke. In what felt like his final moments he saw himself and the terrible creature he had become. He realized how far he had lost himself.

He saw though, it wasn't the fault of the sea but the fault of his own greed and the time he had spent away from his family.

The Lord of the ocean approached him and offered him one more chance in life, though he had to keep his family close, and never lose sight of all the things he truly loved. Unable to respond due to the crushing pressure of the ocean he fell asleep in the water. waking on a shore to a familiar voice.

His wife had found him shipwrecked on the shore of their nearby beach. The sailor was granted his second chance and never once took it for granted. He, his wife and his son set sail together and lived a long happy life together.

Miss Sephoney Specialty Hospital- Part 1

Clean cold air filled the hospital room. Some rays of sunlight penetrated through the window, and the nurse had begun to pull the white curtain over it. The light, however, wouldn't bother the patient who had been in a coma for almost a month.

Other than the nurse that occasionally came in the room to do her daily routine, no one came to visit. The only thing that broke the deafening silence of the room was the heart monitor that was kept on the patient.

It was November the 10th when the nurse noticed that the patient was moving her hand slightly, and the heart rate monitor began to speed up. Immediately the nurse ran to get the doctor. nearly a minute had passed before the nurse returned with the doctor.

"Are you sure she's waking from her coma?" The doctor asked, heading to the young woman. "Are you positive you saw her move?"

The patient moved her hand again and began to force her eyelids open, answering the doctor's question. He did the usual routine when patients were to wake from their coma and told the nurse to bring some water.

The young girl was finally beginning to focus in on parts of the room till she looked at the doctor. She went to talk to the doctor but was unable to fully move yet.

"It's okay, take your time. You've been in a coma for a little over a month now. It's going to take some time to regain use of all of your muscles."

The nurse returned with a plastic cup and a bottle of water. The doctor thanked her kindly and she continued with her other patients. He cracked open the seal of the bottle and poured a bit of water in the cup. The young woman was slowly beginning to gain use of her facial muscles again and tried to talk again, though still a bit mumbled.

"What habben?"

"There you go, slowly now." The doctor reassured.

The girl swallowed hard and tried again to ask something a bit more clear and on the lines of her whereabouts. The doctor began to tell her she was in Miss Sephoney specialty hospital. He then continued to ask her what she last remembered. reminding her to take her time.

"loud crash... I think. It's fuzzy."

He wrote a note on the clipboard he brought along and nodded his head. He continued to try to get answers from her all of which she couldn't quite make out, the last one being her name. It was apparent at that point on she had suffered some kind of amnesia.

She began to move her fingers more trying to get more use out of them. The doctor began to explain to her what had happened.

"Well, we should start with your name, no?" He said with a smile. He continued to inform her that her name was Macaria and that she and her boyfriend had gotten into a terrible accident with a driver three times over the legal limit.
"Luckily no one died, though both you and your boyfriend were knocked unconscious and have been in a coma."

"Did he wake yet?" Macaria asked. If she saw him it might help with the amnesia she was experiencing.

"I'm afraid not, but give it some time and you'll be free to visit him."

Macaria supposes it made sense that she wouldn't be allowed to run out and talk to him. Thinking about it she wasn't quite sure if she could even walk, let alone run. She was still working on trying to gain control of her hands and arms.

The doctor gave her a light smile and stood up. He told her he would be sending in a nurse if she needed anything and started to walk to the door. Macaria stopped him before he left, one question still tugging at the back of her mind.

"You said this is a specialty hospital right? What does it specialize in?" She asked.

"Coma patients, anything else before I go?" He answered.

she shook her head no and went back to trying to will her muscles to work for her again. She sat there in near silence as the heart rate monitor beat steadily until the nurse finally entered. It was a different nurse than the one from before and seemed much more cheery.

"Hello there, my name is Janet and I'm going to be your day nurse. Is there anything at all I can do for you?" she began, erasing the whiteboard that sat in front of Macaria's bed writing her name.

Macaria shook her head no and gave the nurse a light smile. Janet smiled back at her and directed her to the red button just behind the headboard of the hospital bed to call her in if she did need anything or had any questions.

Macaria found herself back in her own world shortly after Janet left. The rhythmic beeping of the monitor, and her focus directed to her arms until she could finally get some movement out of them. In only a couple of hours, she was finally able to move more but dared not put pressure on her legs.

After another hour of trying to focus on her muscles, the nurse entered the room with a tray of food. Janet was just as happy as she was a few hours ago and helped Macaria pull up the dining table on the bed and placed down the tray in front of her.

Macaria ate slowly, whether it was her lack of appetite or the look of the food, she couldn't guess which was worse. She thanked Janet and Janet seemed to write something on the board again. And before she left told Macaria that she should try to get some rest.

Macaira ate as much as she could force down her throat and put the tray aside. She mustered all of her strength to roll over on her side and quickly fell asleep not realizing just how tired she made herself. Her dreams did nothing to help her memory and woke to Janet opening the door and bidding her a good morning.

That Terrible Silence- part 1

"My name is Allison Olivia Barker. I'm almost 18 years old, I live in Georgia. If anyone can hear this please send any response you can." The young girl said frantically, continuing in a couple different languages.

It was only a minute ago when the shelter shook and she knew it had actually happened and that her dad didn't just send his occasional 'test drill'. Her hands shook as she turned off her mic praying for any type of response.

Her phone gave a loud buzz on the counter and she nearly jumped out of her skin. She jumped out of her seat and ran over to it only to see it was a national alert telling everyone in the area to head to their nearest bomb shelter. She shook her head and went back over to her seat.

"A bit late for that..." She mumbled.

Lacie, Allison's cat, rubbed her cheek gently across Allison's leg. She bent over and picked her up gently petting her beautiful white soft fur. Lacie began to purr and made herself comfortable on Allison's lap, blissfully unaware of the anxiety pulsing through Allison's body.

The shaking of her hands didn't become any better as minutes of silence passed her. Her heart beat so loud in her ears she could no longer take it. She placed Lacie on the ground, who gave a disapproving meow and went over to the old Vynals her dad kept in the shelter as it seemed to be a great place for storage.

Her fingers skimmed across the many records, most which seemed to be old classics, like Frank Sinatra, and Buddy Holly. Finally, she found one that the music would remind her of better times. She put the record on and let the notes drown away the silence.

--------

Five records later and two full breakdowns later, she finally heard someone on the radio through the signal wasn't clear. She turned down the music and rushed over to her radio station system doing everything she could to make the other person clearer. She struggled for a few minutes but finally could make out what the voice was saying.

"Hello? Anyone? Can anyone hear this? Did anyone else survive out there?" The voice sounded like a young man, and he too sounded panic-stricken.

Allison turned on her mic and tried to remain as calm as possible, "Hello? I can hear you. Can you hear me?" There was a silent pause for a moment until the man's voice returned, sounding a bit more joyful than before.

"Hello yes. I can hear you. My name is Ethan, I'm in a shelter in Kentucky."

"Hey there. My name is Allison, I'm in a shelter in Georga." She responded.

Both of them were thinking the same thing, more than one place in America was hit. There was a long moment of silence before the man named Ethan spoke again. He asked if anyone else survived where she was and how their radios were even able to reach each other.

Allison explained that no one else was in the shelter with her and that her radio transmitter was one of the best in the world. She had made it herself with the help of a friend of hers. Such a good friend she often regarded him as a family member. His name was Max, and thinking of him filled her with dread once more.

She had yet to think about what might have happened to him. She also wondered what might have happened to her father who was in the military and was stationed in Canada with only a month left. She couldn't help but think he would be fine and that only the U.S. was the one hit, but as for Max...

"I'm with 10 others, we nearly didn't make it in time. I don't know if anyone else made it alive. Have you heard from anyone else? It sounds like you made a pretty powerful machine, can you pick up on any other countries radio stations?" Ethan asked, breaking Allison from her thoughts.

"Other countries?" She repeated. She had never tried before, though now might be a good time to try. She wrote down the numbers she would need to get back to his radio waves and began her search for other counties broadcasts.

Writing Prompt Thursday!

1- People often forget me when they shout my name at parades.
I'm rarely around those that never need aid.
I'm never around those that give in.
In this world, I am only one that taints.
I rarely infect the young.
If more had humanity I'd be likely to faint.
But I'll always watch you squirm like a tongue.

2-I can't say I'm as prominent, as I once was.
Not with the young, as I once was.
Now I'm forced to stay around the powerful, as I always have.
And rarely ever the poor, as I always have.
Though there is one thing I am sure of,
I will following any who use technology,
and I will only grow.

3-I raise your temper to the peak,
I cause wars and those to speak.
Never have I seen a generation so cruel,
Though I don't speak of the ones you think fuel
The hate I see today.
It's only when they die do I fear the hell I'll have to pay.
Unless I can cause a war.

4-I'm usually mistaken for something I'm not.
Though I love to ruin the life of that mistaken lot.
I am often seen after something is "got".
Though some see me as the form of a teen.
I am often the thing that makes you go green,
Even if the color isn't seen.
And I'll always be in your eye.

5-I'm not nearly as heavy as people think me to be.
I'm not nearly as disgusting as people think me to be.
I'm like a horseman, but not one of four.
I'd never spit you out,
but I'll chew everything up.
Never once would should you Doubt,
you'll finish all that's in your cup.

6-I am difficult.
to define, which is why I
slept and did the least.

7- You'll never stop wanting with me around you.
You'll always need more when you feel my presence.
Whether it's to consume or to gain you'll feel that you need it.
Everyone has me in many different ways.
I'm most seen by the rich,
but can also be seen in the poor.
I'll always be seen in banks.

Thought this was a really cool prompt, and a great way to start writing prompt Thursdays! Hope you enjoy and can figure out which poem is which sin.

Juniper- The Therapist.

"Do you ever regret it?”

“Are you asking if I regret leaving my friends in some mirror realm with a bunch of ghosts?” I ask though it came out more harshly than It was in my head.

“That’s what you think you did.” Dr. Hertimo reminded.

That's what you think you did. The words repeat in my head. I know I did. Unlike last time I can’t seem to forget anything. Those creatures… those poor people, my friends. What was supposed to be a rescue mission turned out to be a trap to collect more souls. Why I’m not sure.

“Do you still keep the mirrors covered in your house?” Dr. Hertimo asked.

I nodded, a bit shamefully. Many people have catoptrophobia, the fear of mirrors, but then again for most people its irrational.
The doctor got up from his chair and went over to his desk opening a drawer.

“I’d like to try something. I hope that facing your fear will help you realize that no harm can come from an unbroken mirror.”

Out from his drawer, he pulled out a handheld mirror. Walking back over he handed it to me. For anyone this little pink plastic covered mirror would just be another item, they use in their everyday life. As for me, it felt like a hot stone.

I didn’t want to look at it, less hold the thing. The mirror pointed away from me and I dreaded what I might see on the other side. I could feel my heart starting to pound in my ears and I must have turned a shade of pale because the doctor said something.

“I’m sorry what did you say?” I asked looking back up at what was no longer the doctor in front of me.

Before me was a creature of wrongly twisted human characteristics. Thin long features from its limbs to the face itself. Distorted sockets where eyes should have been and a missing nose. Only small toughs of hair protruded from its head. Its head cocked to the left and began to speak, though its mouth remained closed, for better or for worse.

“Poor child, all your friends are gone and you haven’t the courage to even move.”

Its voice was soft and raspy, like a grandparent on their deathbed. It rocked back and forth slowly as it talked to me, and if it wasn’t for my fear paralyzing me it would have sent shivers up my spine. I knew that even if I tried to speak back, nothing would come out and so instead I sat in silence until it spoke again.

“You’ll see me again child, but only when your guilt consumes you.”

I closed my eyes and when I opened them in front of me was the doctor again, like nothing had happened and as if no time had passed. I still held the mirror in my hands, facing away from me. After what had just happened I figured nothing could be worse.

I was wrong.

This is a little video I made for Third Eye, which sadly doesn't look like it will be finished. Either way, enjoy.

Libidine's Curse

Tales of Madness
Libidine's Curse
Cindico Lovelock
There once was a young girl with a skill like no else. Much like me, she was the daughter of a pumpkin lord, but her mother was Vatis. Her skill was soon known by many in Terrah and many became jealous. One fell in love.

The boy just so happened to be the son of Libidine, and when he proclaimed his love the young girl turned him down. As many of us ladies know, men hate rejection and so he prayed to his mother that she would do something for him.

She appeared before him and held him in her arms. "I will take care of this." She said, wiping the tears from his face.

The young girl was fast asleep when Libidine visited her in Videres domain. As soon as Libidine revealed herself, The girl feared what wrath would be inflicted upon her.

"I curse you to a life longing, to the end of your days you will feel empty as those you wish you could love will never be."

The young girl woke with a start and shivers down her spine. She wondered if the dream was true, as she didn't feel any different. She decided she wouldn't worry about it, and try to rest peacefully for the rest of the night.

One day she was invited to perform in front of the king of Ephvosia. (For those who don't know the history of the four kingdoms this was the name of them before they broke apart.) All those who listened to her sang understood why so many wanted to have her around day and night.

The king made her a deal only one could dream of and she had no choice but to accept. She was to live in the castle, be treated as a royal but she had to perform whenever she was asked by the king or queen.

She thanked him graciously and accepted his offer. As time marched on the king's son took a great liking to her. He continuously tried to make advances towards her, of many she wished to reciprocate but couldn't because of Libidines curse.

More time passed and years of empty love made the young girl hollow and cold. One day she decided she couldn't take her silence anymore and told the prince why she couldn't love him. He stayed silent for a long time before he finally left without saying a word.

the girl tried to follow him but something held her back. She knew even if the prince loved her she could never love him back and she understood what Libidines son felt. Unlike him though she couldn't just ask her mother to curse another person. instead, she locked herself in her room and created songs, poems, and stories. She used her emptiness to create happiness and love for others.

The last thing she did was write a letter to the prince before taking her own life. Though no one knows exactly what it said, and no one knows where the note resides. The young girl was buried in her hometown and many have claimed to hear her sweet voice echoing throughout the graveyard late at night.

Many of her songs are still sung today, and many have taken her story for inspiration without knowing it, until now.

---------
Libidine- Lord of Love
Vatis- Lord of the arts
Videre- Lord of dreams

Cindico Lovelock is a story tell well known through Terrah but quickly descended into madness as her father is the lord of it (Cerrit)

the story is about Alainn Radharc a young woman who claimed to be the daughter of Vatis. She was indeed invited to the castle by the king and there were many rumors that she was the mistress of the prince which many felt was confirmed by some of the lyrics in her songs. The last time she was seen in public she was seen with the prince who some claimed kissed her, though those rumors cannot be confirmed.

She soon took her own life in her room and was quietly taken back to her hometown to be buried.

Daughter of Noctis

Deorwyn Sylvia

Deorwyn's last note to Conner-

Conner, one day you will read this and I pray when that day comes you will not hate me for the choices I have made for you. I'm sure as you have read through the rest of my diary you have pieced together that we are only half-siblings and that you are only alive because Solis forced Noctis to let you live under the comet Haley. He did this as an act to secure my approval of him.

Now because of the many choices they have made around my life, they meddled with forces even pumpkin lords should never tamper with, I can finally make a choice without any others altering what I do. To save the people of Terrah from more suffering, more pain then what they will already endure I have made the choice to take my own life.

I have figured out a way to do it so that you should never feel guilty. My friend has agreed to give me a poisonous berry that only few can find. It will look like an accident and I hope that's all you will ever see it as.

I also pray that the man that I have arranged to take you in is just as kind and caring as he was to me and his own daughter.

I will always love you, Though you were to be dead, the world would never have been the same. You will be the balance. The boy with hair of ice. A warning. A loved brother. And you will forever be watched by the daughter of the moon.

- Deorwyn
--------------------------
This section which will be revealed in the three months Conner is away from Claire reveals some pretty important information which may remain a mystery. One, Deorwyn was actually murdered and Conner did the right thing, and Two, Deorwyn knew Doltan though we don't know how well.

Also, Deorwyn was completely inspired by the song Daughter Of The Moon and if you listen it's probably pretty obvious.
